The MML now organises cultural evenings featuring live music and comedy.
We host a quarterly benefit gig to raise money and awareness about the library and our activities.
Recently, we held a fundraising event in The Harrison pub on 7th March to honour International Women's Day. It was a fantastic night, featuring singer-songwriter Maddy Carty, blues artist Nia Wyn and comedian and activist Kate Smurthwaite. It was fitting to celebrate International Women's Day with such unique female voices; each entertainer captivated the audience in a different way with their performance. The Morning Star wrote a review of the night which articulated our excitement and enthusiasm for the gig. We hope to repeat the success of this night with upcoming cultural evenings throughout the year, so keep an eye out for future events here: http://www.marx-memorial-library.org/education/upcoming-events
