Plan Chest Appeal

WE DID IT - THANKS TO ALL OUR GENEROUS SUPPORTERS WHO HELPED TO GIVE OUR POSTERS A NEW HOME!

The Marx Memorial Library and Workers’ School was founded with the aim of advancing knowledge in the history of socialism and the working class movement.

As part of that aim we have a unique collection of over 2,000 posters on the Soviet Union, the Spanish Civil War, and various labour movement struggles for peace and solidarity.

This is a phenomenal resource and record of our history, like no other in the UK. They need a safe secure home at the Marx Memorial Library’ and Workers School.

At the moment, we are working through the posters cataloguing and photographing them with a dedicated team of volunteers.  Our next priority is to ensure they are stored safely and securely for the long term future.

This can only be done by purchasing new museum standard plan chest storage.

The library depends entirely on the support of those committed to securing the legacy of socialism and the working class. We need your help to raise £1,200 to ensure that these posters are securely stored and this amazing resource of our movement secured.

We will easily reach this if all our members donate £5  - the price of a pint (in central London!) or two cups of coffee : You can help preserve the legacy of our movement by helping us to buy a secure chest to store our posters.

Can you help ensure our posters have a safe secure home at the Marx Memorial Library for the price of a pint?
